Contributor's comments: I knew this as 'Things are crook in TALLAROOK'. Perhaps the fact that my mothers family lived in Victoria is relevant.
Contributor's comments: My grandparents used this (particularly my grandfather, but the way he used it sounded like 'things are crook in Mull-e-wook' with a short 'e' as in bet. I was under the impression this was some sort of rhyming slang.
